I was up to $148 on a 25NL table and everyone was expecting me to go on tilt I guess.. I had 88 and everyone knew I was irratic. I might bluff, I might not, but I definately was winning over all obviously!

I raised to $1 with 88 and someone raised to $2 and I called. (Was this my mistake?? Should I actually re-raise with 88 ?)

We flopped 278 !

He whent all in (fortunately for me he only had $7-8 left..

Of course I called because I hit trip 8's

He had 99 and on the turn he got a 9!!!!!!!!!!!! So he won....

He bet before me, so I was not able to raise him first... and even if I had he would of probably raised back at me and I would of definately called with trip 8's high on board...

Did I do anything wrong? Is this just an unavoidable situation?

You have a long ways to go before you can really tune your brain into the winning mind set.

All you can do in poker is get all your money in with the best hand. You did that, congratulations.

You have to learn to seperate the process from the results.

You seem to be a very enthusiastic player who's very interester in the game. I would strongly suggest to hold onto that enthusiasm, take a break from playing for a couple of days and read instead. Learn the math and start to smile every time you get hit with a bad beat. In the long run that guy is paying your bills.
