That's how NOT to play pocket aces.

WSOP syndrome dude.

I'll tell you why. I see you do this, and now I know if you didn't push preflop you don't have a high pocket.

I see people do this all the time and I just shake my head. I mean sure it's not going to get cracked by 56 or a low pocket, and once in a while someone calls, but it's not going to get action this way 90% of the time in a NON tournament atmosphere (i.e. cash game)

By doing this, you're severely diminishing the hands equity. You might as well get rockets and set the cards on fire.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Anyone who plays 25-NL knows that believe it or not, this sometimes works.

25-NL players can't lay down anything like AQ/AK pocket Kings-8's or so pre-flop. The simpl fact that nobody would go all in pre-flop for over 100 times the big blind with pocket Aces is the reason this play works.

Anyways, I think rebuy posted this as a joke anyways, but after a bad beat when the table thinks your tilting, if I have Aces or Kings, I will do this occasionally.

Somebody will take a shot at you with a medicore hand and give you an easy double up. I guess it's just a 25-NL Party Poker thing..
Currently Playing 8 Tables of 25NL 10-Max.
Or
2 Tables of 100NL 10-Max

Current Bankroll: $625

Goal: To stop pulling $$$ out of my bankroll and build it up to 1k.

I misread the hand history. I didn't see the reraise ahead of you. In that case it was a great move.

yes that is how you play pocket aces.

Hard to judge how good/bad a move like that is without having a read on the other players.
