Over my last 35,000 hands playing at FT 100NL and 200NL. I am averaging 7.02 at the 100NL and 6.46 at the 200NL. (19,000 hands on 100NL and 16,000 hands on 200NL ) So I am wondering is this the norm. Are people generaly doing better than this. I know I have some leaks in my game just wondering how bad are they hurting me.

Is this a hidden brag post? Cause that is a pretty substantial win rate.

edit: oh right this is full ring, i think this is still pretty solid though.

the average bb/100 is less than zero because of the rake

if you did not create this thread to brag about your winrate, do not keep reading this post...

nobody gives a shit about your winrate

You need to play more hands in order to find your true winrate.

QFT

Edit: If this is bbs and not ptbbs, then it's probably more reasonable.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

If you've been reading for years then you should know the answer to your question already!

How many hands does someone have to play to get an idea of their winrate?

I can't manage more than 4 tables at once (beginner here), but if 25k hands will maybe tell you how you play, does that mean i'm playing 125 hours (4 tables x 50 hands/hour) to get an idea if i know what i'm doing at the stakes i'm currently playing at?

Also, changing limits should be based on BR and comfort level, right? If i get up to 20-30BI's for 10NL and i'm playing 5NL, i should give it a shot?

!!Don't read any further if you feel the need to tear someone else apart for listing stats based on what is obviously way too small of a sample to properly gauge their play!!
I've played ~2K hands total between PS and VC. On PS, i started with the free $5, now have $14.84 in 1142 hands (21.54 ptbb/100 @ .01/.02NL). On VC, i started with the free $10, now have $30.40 in 679 hands (15.02 ptbb/100 @ .05/.10NL). I know that's not even a tease of a slice of a sample of what i need, but i'm working on it... come on, even some of you 1000NL man-eating sharks were here once...

Don't strive for "my true winrate"

Strive for "my winrate > 0"

It can always be better than x bb/100, with x being a random number, just do not worry about it as long as it is positive

Asking others "what is your winrate", making posts on internet forums like "my winrate is...", its kinda like telling everybody who'll listen that you have a bigger dick than they do. No one will care, and if you have to tell people, you definitely ain't got a big one. One thing though, you will come across as being a big asshole.

Thx Jack Sawyer!

OK, so i've refined my embryonic goals... i will keep playing as much as i can (as long as i still like it and my newest ADD hobby doesn't get old), trying to build my free $ BR, keep the winrate >0, LEARN FROM IT WHEN I DONATE $ TO SOMEONE FOR GOD KNOWS WHY, and not posting my penis on the forum (unless i'm having problems with it). Ha!
I'm not addicted to blackjack. I'm just addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.

my winrate at 600NL is -70BB/100 over 1k hands
At 1/2 and 2/4 its 4BB/100 over 100k hands

At 10NL I think I had 16BB/100 over 450k hands.

You need to play a lot more hands to have a good sample size. I haven't had a good sample size since 10NL to tell me because I've moved up in 100k hands or less at each level.

Win rate is meaningless, just play a bunch of hands at the level you are comfortable at and win money.

450k hands at 10NL? wow. and i thought i had the resident title...lol. i dont know if even i can last that long down here.

however, i think we all know the number for "true win rate" is HUGE. but, i think we can get an "idea" after 25k....meaning, if you are killing it (8+), you are likely a long term winner there. of course, nothing is absolute, but i think you can confidently tell your friends you win playing poker.
