You play it just like that.

The river play is playing it a bit safe. Worse kings will call and it's a bit of a stretch to assume your opponent had Qx

I'd probably put in another river value bet or .5 upwards of a dollar.

You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

Well, I had a read on that guy. He plays anything suited and anything good and suited like A-A. The fact that he was still in the game after the turn told bet told me he was on a flush draw (normally I wouldn't worry about runner-runner for the flush to beat me).

Looks like it was the right read, I guess there was nothing to do with that hand.

Is it just me or does the flop bet seem way too weak? You're the one with the monster preflop raise, so keep the initiative going. Dont slow play a set, especially with that board combined with the preflop action.

The reason that I only bet 1/3 pot on the flop was that this was the first time that I had actually caught a hand larger than TPTK.

Every other time I played, I opened with a 10 cent bet, then did the same on the flop. I was just trying to keep my bets consistent.

As you can see, the buy-in was $2, so I had already taken a few pots just this way anyway. I figured that remaining consistent on the flop was my best play.

I played pot-sized on the turn because after not taking it down on the flop, I was sure I'd be able to do it then.

I guess it was just bad luck that the fish caught this time.
