check flop
as played i'd probably go ahead and get stacked. He can't have a flush in a million years (any flush draw on the flop is also going to have a pair and godknowswhatelse to go with it, so he's checkjam), so he has to have TT or 99 to beat u here. I think more likely he has something like AxQc or something. Honestly i can't put him on a hand at all, and since his line is weird im gonna get stacked.

when lines don't make sense and/or you see huge bets like this out of the blue, it usually means desperation more often than a better hand.

I think checking the flop here is absolutely absurd. As played, bet flop and cal that turn. No flush makes sense and most likely has toppair and FD

I think this is the same line that wufwugy (sp?) was having problems with at 200 NL. There is a similar WTF thread about it. Should see if it's the same opp or just a weird line that was written about in a book recently.
Edit: no its not. just similar nvm

We have top 2 on a very drawy board. We most likely have the best hand and we don't want to see a club, Q, or J, so I'm going to try and get in as much as possible on the flop. I think if he has you beat on the turn here its a cooler.

why don't you give me a range of hands that villain pays us off for stacks with on the flop?

He doesn't have to show up with K-10/A-10/flush draw/A-Q that often to make bet/calling the flop better than checking and seeing a potentially scary/action killing turn. The most plausible hands for villain to be holding that are beating us are Q-J/10-10.

imo check is good on this flop because our hand has virtually no value. It's almost certainly the best hand, don't get me wrong. It just has no value. The only thing he can really give us action with is AQ, and most players aren't even gonna show up with AQ here, and if they do they still may not try to stack off.
re: theres draws out blah blah blah save it. He almost never has a flush draw. The hand with the most outs JJ/QQ, but they are still probably not gonna give us any action if we bet flop.
This is a classic way ahead way behind 3bet pot scenario. In fact if we check behind and the turn rolls off another club, then our hand dramatically increases in value, because he may semibluff the turn with something like 9c9 or JcJ, and we'd get stacks in as an awesome favorite.
So imo betting the flop is just a great way to get stacked or take down a 60 dollar pot basically on a bluff.
