Yeah you should bet pot again on the turn in my opinion (or at the VERY least, $5).
Maybe you could have pushed him off with a bet on the turn.

Yeah, thought of that too... I didn't think I was playing against a flush after my flop-bet...
But maybe your right...
I played two tables at once so I didn't have a good player-reading.
Maybe I'm not ready for two tables at once...
TONIGHT I'm KRUSCHED!!!!!!!! $50 loss...

K8o with top pair crappy kicker. Imo the other player was real loose. And would have called you down until the river.
The turn check game him a free card. Also, This should have folded the river.

I would have bet the turn... given that you didn't, I then would have folded the river. Guy calls, calls, checks, then comes alive with a decent bet when a flush card shows up? Not a profitable call there, he's very likely to have made his flush.

This sort of action is standard with weak players.
Be more aggressive. Drop the weak/tight style.
People will almost always call on the flop with a flush draw.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

I think of it this way. If you are willing to call a $4 bet on the river with your hand unimproved and a flush possible, why not bet it instead? Preferably on the turn while he is drawing.
But then again, top apir weak kicker with somebody calling is a hard hand. Fold river.

Bet the turn - make him pay for his/her flush.
Their bet on the River signaled they hit the flush - fold.

If you put all your faith in the river, you are up shit's creek
