I'd fold to that too. After the ace falls on the turn you gotta go into check/fold mode imo. He almost certainly had you beat. I'm learning that it's usually not worth it to play marginal hands for a raise from the blinds - just because of the post-flop positon (unless I flop a monster of course).
I'll be a rootin' tootin' shootin' damn fool, protectin' my chips.

oh i wasnt dreaming about calling, but im trying to understand the type of cards that overbets the pot on the river like this. i couldnt put him on a hand whatsoever.

I could imagine TT JJ QQ or KK would make this bet. That's because you acted real weak on the ace. It could also be a stone bluff. You should have bet when the ace dropped. Aces are your friend.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

any of those hands raises the flop and half of them raise preflop.


i can usually put someone on 1-2 different hands. here i was completely clueless.

This is one of those 80% of the time he beats you, 20% of the time he's bluffing. You still have to fold it. I may have tried a check raise on the flop if I had a read.
