You want them to have KK here but wouldn't they have reraised preflop? The pattern of bets looks like a set. If your villain is a real TAG, you gotta let it go.

Need more information on the villain, how aggressive is he? Will he semi-bluff flush draws with overcards? How aggressively does he play his sets? Does he pounce on weakness (like your turn check)? Would he play say 99 like this?

By just calling his flop raise you aren't getting anymore info and not giving him any reason to slow down. Which is fine if your read is that you are ahead and you want to check raise him on the turn, but if you dont know where you are in the hand then there is no point to calling the flop and checking the the turn because he will bet again and you will be faced with the same decision.

You could be facing JJ, QQ, KK, AKs (hearts), TT, 55, 22, 99-66. Obviously the AKs, 99-66 hands arent played this way by weak tight players. Would he smooth call with QQ\KK preflop? What type of hands does he raise flop bets with? Against a very aggressive player (post flop) you will be ahead here quite often (in which case I will probably check raise the turn) but if hes more straightforward then trying to get a cheap showdown or folding is probably the way to go.
