I'm struggling with my game... been flatlining over the past 2-3k hands. Though I KNOW there have been some beats during the run, I am worried it's affecting my decision making. I may also be missing value; so please, all comments are welcome.

1. Anyways, opp has not shown down much if anything in 40-50 hands at table.

Say what you will about the flop and lack of cbet, and turn coldcall, but do you push the river raise? (I don't usually play a set this way).

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($119.40)
UTG+1 ($76.80)
MP1 ($100)
MP2 ($198.50)
CO ($62.70)
Hero ($127.25)
SB ($100)
BB ($122.80)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, J.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $1, 3 folds, Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, BB calls $3, UTG+1 folds.

Flop: ($9.50) 7, A, J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($9.50) 8 (2 players)
BB bets $6, Hero calls $6.

River: ($21.50) 8 (2 players)
BB bets $12, Hero raises to $35, BB raises to $58, Hero ...

2. Villain here was actually quite passive postflop and his play in general had a (very) slight hint of trout. Not a hardcore fish per se, but rather didn't seem like a very skilled player. What sort of raise would maximize value on this river? Pot doesn't seem big enough to push.

Hero ($99)
BB ($64.95)
UTG ($27.35)
UTG+1 ($15.55)
MP1 ($61.35)
MP2 ($55.50)
MP3 ($92.65)
CO ($117.55)
Button ($16.70)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8, 7.
7 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2) Q, A, 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks.

Turn: ($2) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.5, BB calls $1.50.

River: ($5) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $3, BB raises to $6, Hero raises to $16, BB calls $10.

Final Pot: $37

3. Simply put; absent of read, are you calling this river bet?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP ($107.80)
Button ($98.50)
SB ($55.20)
Hero ($103.65)
UTG ($109.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q, 7.
2 folds, Button calls $1, SB raises to $2, Hero calls $1, Button calls $1.

Flop: ($6) 9, 9, Q (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, Button folds, SB calls $3.

Turn: ($12) 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($12) 2 (2 players)
SB bets $14, Hero ...

4. I have a very tight read on villain here. He's a supertight TAGG (not really nit; quite aggro postflop and overall quite solid). Since he's my BB when I'm SB, there have been a few small ball blind battles which I've won.

I don't think he's shown down a hand at all to this point, so his SB range should be very very tight.

What sort of bet would be appropriate on the river here? I'm looking for at least the range of payoff in this case which justifies my looseness.

Hero ($140.05)
SB ($145.70)
BB ($31.30)
UTG ($118.90)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T, 8.
4 folds, Hero calls $1, SB raises to $4, 1 fold, Hero calls $3.

Flop: ($9) 7, J, A (2 players)
SB bets $5, Hero calls $5.

Turn: ($19) 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $8, SB calls $8.

River: ($35) A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets ....

1. Come on man you can't seriously be thinking about anything other than a push on the river. Also...bet flop/raise turn.

2. Fine

3. Call

4. Bet $20

If you push you get stacked when they have quads or higher PP, split when they have a Q, and win the same amount of $ if they are bluffing than if you had just called. Every now and then they will have a worse FH and pay you off, but this doesn't happen as often as I used to think.
