Found this site when searching up on big blind special stories after running into my first last night (losing end, of course!).

About 2 hours into a disorganised (friendly) game (using two decks, no "button", and people were getting up and leaving the table for the kitchen all over the place!), and I lost concentration for a moment and didn't realise I was playing against the big blind. Playing A-6 suited, the flop came down 6-5-3, giving me top pair and a good flush draw as well. Overvaluing flushes as I do, and overvaluing kicker aces as I do, and wondering "why in the world would this guy be in the pot" as I kept raising. River shows an Ace and I'm thinking "well there she blows" and go all in against what I think is nothing but a bluff gone too far.

When I get hit with a sheeping grin, the words "sorry, big blind special" and a mixed 4-2 hand.

Damn me, sometimes! I even opened the game commenting on this particular friend, admitting "man I cannot read this guy", and during this hand, I actually said "You know, I can feel myself playing a really bad hand, but just can't help myself!" as I re-raised.

Gotta love poker.
