but i told him he gave me correct odds to call. I limped in as there were so many limpers preflop. Would anyone have played it differently?

yep after his raise on turn the pot was $6.50 and i had to call $2 to stay in hand. He actually had 8 10 for a straight and should have burried me on the turn instead of a poxy $2 raise.

I try to get all-in on the flop with a hand like this. Top pair with flush draw. Anyone else do this?

It obv depends on the game dynamics (ie how aggro the table has been playing), but in general getting AI with this hand in a multi-way limped pot is not good. What hand will we have a lot of equity against? Raised pots are a whole different story.
OP: Just lead out for pot on the flop and the whole hand will play out better (and easier). But as played, I think it's okay.

I tend to play hands when my vpip is low. If i have vpip of 10 after about 40 hands this is when i may play silly hands like above. If i am looking at my own vpip and seeing rock i guess some of the others at the table are and the small blind is the cheapest place to do this. I will also increase my range for a while and play suited semi connectors in late possition or small blind (for half price) but i never fall in love with them. I am here to learn, if this is bad play let me know. I think i told him he should have raised more or something along those lines, i wouldn't have said as quoted.

I mean it's a terrible hand but it's not costing you a lot to see the flop and the implied odds are decent... I am still folding pre-flop, but you played it fine post-flop I think.

remember that one guy who kept posting stuff like "Should I play flushes preflop?"
say something like that "I had a flush preflop!"

Excellent point. The most important question however, who is your avatar? Hot.
