I'm not even thinking about the straight possibility on the turn...Is this a leak?

JL will become famous soon enough
First hand, slow down a bit and ask yourself "do I really want to go broke with TPTK?" not many people are going to re-raise you on the flop with a weaker hand than that, unless they think you are just C-betting.

Second hand, he check called you, then check raises you on the turn, this shows great strength. But I would have gone broke in that hand as well. You had 10 outs. I wouldnt lose sleep over that hand.

In the first hand I would have cold called the reraise and saw what happened on the turn, and generally tried to minimize any further losses/gains for the hand.

On the second hand you could have maybe bet bigger on the flop. 89 is a popular hand. After then turn you played it fine I think. You're getting 2:1 on your money to put him all in and with your boat draw, you aren't getting raped too badly on odds. So you're play in the second hand seems fine.

JJ hand...bet more on the flop. You gave OESD better odds to call than he should have had.

He checked to you. He wanted to know if you had a K (or anything), and your weak bet told him you didn't. Yeah, $5 would've been my bet.

There is no reraise in either hand. Well actually there is but you were the one who reraised. You just got raised both times and check/raised the second time. So instead of thinking when someone reraises you, think before reraising.

Here you create two problems for yourself.
1) As stated by Warpe, you give the OESD better odds to draw and given implied odds they'll take it most every time.
2) Your flop bet looks weak, so you second guess the re-raise. "Did he re-raise me because of my weak bets?".

I bet 3/4pot to full pot on the flop. Put the opponent to the tough decisions. And finally, Yes, if you didn't see the straight possiblity you got wrapped up in your cards and forgot about the overall poker hand. That is a leak.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

For the first hand, call the re-raise and re-analyze on the turn. Helps control the pot size so you don't go broke with TPTK.

Second hand, represent AK on the flop and bet the pot. Most of the time, only better hands will call you here, and the draws will fold.

Hand 1: Out of position with a well defined hand. The EXACT hand the fishies will often put you on. I've written about this spot before. The cliff notes version says raise bigger or just call pre-flop because pot building will put you in a world of hurt and difficult decisions.

Hand 2: I lose my stack here too. Bad luck. We could talk about bet sizes, etc, but the scope of that conversation is much bigger than the hand in question and I don't think 1/2 potting that flop matters all that much in isolation.
