With that kind of read I call villain every time, I _might_ fold if he has only been that aggressive with (close) nuts like a set.
Did you really think that he would've played his KK this way. Normally check-calls on a board like that are signs of monsters. Quite often if a solid opponent calls there after my bet I tend to check the turn in order to keep the pot relatively small even with TPTK and prevent him check-raising me on turn.

KK doesn't smoothcall the flop and turn with an ace on the board.

Ditto, but don't you find that when you do this they sense weakness and go way over the top on the river? It happens to me quite often, so I never know quite how to play the check-calls...

if I have checked on turn and they bet the pot on river and I hold TPTK and tend to call those bets. 1) if they had a set and they think I am weak the guys I play with dont bet that hard cause they are rooting for a call. If they think they can push me out of the pot they will bet at least half the pot. Anyways, this will keep the pot smaller compared to me betting say half the pot on turn AND it will more likely induce a bluff on their part. All this is read dependant of course. If I think they will hang on to their Ax on A high board all the way I will bet whole way to the river.

Ok, I'd agree with you there, although the limits I am at I don't really see people with thought process this advanced.
What I was getting at was TPTK getting smooth called, so I check behind on the turn. River comes up blank and they go all in or massive overbet.
Alternatively, river does not come up blank; same result...
Happend to me about 5 min ago; raised with AQo on button, got one limp/caller.
Board comes up AK9 rainbow. I get checked, so i bet pot and get smooth called. I check behind on the turn and he goes AI on the river. I was only 2-tabling, so I had a fair read on him. I told him he had a set (and could he please show) and folded (to his set of 9s) - so this time I was beat, but I've had plenty of pushes like this with TPSK or bluffs/missed draws...
In these cases is it better to raise the turn with say 1/3 pot bet and then check behind on the river if they try it again? At 25-50NL a lot of opps arn't smart enough to realise it won't work 3 times in a row, which may end up saving you money as long as they havn't check/raised the turn... thoughts?

I mean I think I find a fold there but his play doesn't make a lot of sense. He's acting like he was drawing to some hand yet there is no draw. So he probably hit the flop strong. I was really thinking AA because of the min raise. He had A9 which was pretty sketchy of a reraise preflop. So i don't think I would call there but it's your choice if you don't have much of a read.

His betting pattern indicates AA (unlikely) or 99 as possible hands that could beat you. But both hands would at least reraise the turn I think.. I don't see a fold here. Good call.

The thing with loose players is that they're more likely to have something like 2 pair vs a set and will play it for stacks.
What did you hope the accompish with that table chat? I would be probably thinking of what I have to say to make it most likely this guy reloads.
