I have about $1200, villian has me nearly covered.
Preflop with QT in mp, I make it $6, vil makes it $22, random player calls and I call. Flop 6h Kh Js. I check, vil bets 35, random folds I call. Turn is 9c. I bet 82 villian calls. Pot is $300. River blanks like a 4 or something.
We have roughly 1K each behind. Vil has been hitting alot of hands, playing kind of spewy/not caring with shorter stacks but has more of less been avoiding playing in pots with me. He has cold called a bunch of my preflop raises and folded when I cbet most of the time.
What should I be betting on the river here? My thinking was that he would probably muck alot of top pair mid kickers with from my turn bet because he would be in a tough spot if i bet the river big, so I felt he might have some kind of two pair / set type hand but didnt want to raise me on the turn to control the pot size.
What should I be betting on the river?

Fold pre-flop.
Bet more on the turn, at least 200 on the river.
Is it normal to play this deep?

Just wanted to add, that check/raising a nut hand this deep is pretty silly.
Check/raising the turn has a sick amount of implied threat.
River isn't going to get value bet by one pair often enough by most live players.
I like a turn bet/3-bet line. Maximizes the range of hands that give action on the turn and makes it less awkward to lead the river.

Also check raising the turn takes out missed flush draws from my range.
As played, I bet 225 on the river and he folded AK face up after thinking for a few minutes. A few players not in the hand were saying I missed the flush draw and nice bluff. I didn't show my hand.
Like I said before I was thinking he was more likely to have a set / 2 pair type hand there more often than top pair. I didn't think he would call 80 with just top pair on the turn

Ni Han.
Hard to get a big bet call out of one pair on the river sometimes.

thats the thing. i made my bet fairly quickly but i did the rough math, i just guessed one pair type hands were there 20-25% of the time, and two pair / set type hands were there 80-75% of the time. (dont hate on the math, i thought this and bet within like 15 seconds)
that being said, if I knew he had AK i would have bet smaller.. long run though i feel my bet sizing was okay.
