Alright, up to this hand I had been playing well, letting go of some good cards at the right time, playing the good cards right, actually catching some cards too, etc.

THEN

I get dealt Kc Kd and flop Jc Jd Th and think, man they keep coming my way.

K K is hard to let go, but all the signs were there that this guy had me but I was blinded...

The table was somewhat tight, folding to low raises and losing many players pre-flop.

I am the idiot behind the XXXX

a larger preflop raise would have definatly done better here.

You've got the second best starting hand, what more could you want? RAISE IT!

The general raise I make with that hand is around $3. Of course that depends on how many people are already in, and how tight hte table is. If there are already 4 people in the pot ahead of me i'd raise it to 5, if its a tight table with nobody in yet, then $3

well the 50 cent raise is weak, a 50 cent raise isn't going to make anyone fold, if youre going to raise, raise it like you mean it! Raise it to 3 bucks or around there, but you should have folded after the reraise, don't be afraid to be more aggressive next time when you get a great starting hand.

ditto mike and raging on the pfr raise.

disclaimer about how tight/loose the players and table and all - but for me: KK or AA is probably getting at least a $4 or $5 pfr raise. i know that's high, but i've gotten screwed on both with a $2 or $3 pfr by limpers.

if everyone folds, it's better than getting it cracked.

now, all of that said - i probably would have fallen for the trap to.

don't beat yourself up - with some of the crazy play you see, it's just hard to know...

Aye, the minimum raise is the absolute worst play from EP with KK. You annouce to the table that you have a hand and other (passive) players are less likely to re-raise you with a weaker hand. Either limp/re-raise or raise it up to 4-6x the BB.
