Gotta love it when that happens.

One thought here though, and someone else may disagree... It's half your stack to call, so why re-raise to scare off the other players with your Aces? No way anyone gets implied odds to call if you push on the flop and I think a 3rd caller would be +EV (but higher risk, of course) given how strong Aces are. So why not stall a few seconds and just call here? Although, the over-call would be pretty freak anyway...

I agree with Fnord that calling would be more EV, but, in that sit i'm also pushing. The pot is big enough to keep me very happy and i'd be devestated to get my AA cracked from here.

It also avoids having to make a nasty decision for the rest of your stack on the flop, if its ugly.

No decision, push-in and let them figure it out or call if they beat you to it. No #$%^@ way you would ever laydown.

In a ring game, with AA if I've got somebody with a decent stack who will go all in with me pre-flop, I'm almost always going to push it in.

That third player may not be making too much of a mistake calling $45 against $105 with say KQs or JJ. Once he calls, the fourth could be in as well. From there its anybody's ballgame.

After I saw all those face cards coming up I was awfully glad I pushed in. Lots of hands can beat me. AJs, 9Js, KQ, KTs, TT, QQ are all potential callers without the all-in re-raise (well 9Js may be a stretch, even at PP - but is a possibility for the fourth guy whose going to get 3:1 odds)

I think even the 4rth call is +EV. Aces are that good.

My point was if the flop came all one suited of a suit you didn't have, you don't have to worry about calling / folding to an all in bet. Its an extreme example, but one that i've seen more than once. Pushing all in pf has a small bonus of removing this decision was my point.

I by no means was saying to fold to a scary board, just a way to avoid a decision if you flop the "nightmare from hell" flop.
