It was Stars 25NL. I had Q4 in BB, 4 players checked around a A36 rainbow flop. Turn a 4, checked all around. River another 4, no flush possible. Now I've got trip 4s good kicker, and SB led out from SB for $1 (4xBB = pot). He was short......had like another $5 behind. I though briefly for pushing him all-in but decided to just call. Other players folded and SB showed 57 for a straight.

There's no way I fold; after all it's well-concealed trips + good kicker on a no-coordinated board. Was my river call sound, or should I have raised?

Villain was a loose player preflop, but somewhat predictable postflop, so he doesn't have an Ace yet he's got something. I figured that if I raised and got reraised I'll have to call since he's short.

Judging from the poll results I guess raising is the better play, despite the fact that he's got me beat.
