I'd say you are looking at AQh here to give tptk + the nut flush draw and he's putting you on AK or something that has either missed the flop or a lesser flush draw.

Can't really give much more of a feel for it without villan read to see if he'd do this with QQ as well.

Other than that, reraise needs to be around $6 as said previously

I get the money in here but I am not sure if I do it as gleefully as the others in this thread.

Deconstructing his line more it looks like a flush draw really. Honestly, if he has a 5 doesn't he have to c/r here after you 3bet PF and cbet strongly? There is just no hand that beats you that makes sense betting full pot on the turn.

In retrospect- you are probably right - i was probably ahead - but i'm always nervous getting all my chips in - at this point in time - and with his bet, it was either all -in, or fold....

I just don't like getting all in with 1 pair on this kind of board....

Andrew.

i understand what you mean - I hate getting all in with 1 pairs also - In this situation, he COULD be playing AQ really strong, but alot of times you are also behind -

this is exactly what im having a problem with at 50NL myself - I'm giving too much credit sometimes -

I can see a fold here...im certainly not of the "get your money in you NIT" opinion cause I see this line taken by strong hands....

i like the preflop re-raise amount - i think thats fine - Maybe pot the flop though for $8 or $9 instead of that...the flop is exactly what you want here, and I don't like the hand to go too much farther (unless im against a donk who pays off with garbage, but this is no reads)

hopefully you can see some of his hands soon and get a read for next time -
this space intentionally left blank

Pre flop raise is too small in my opinion, you raised barely more than the minimum and offered the guy some pretty tasty implied odds.

As played I can't see a fold here and I'm a huge nit. He raised under the gun, so what can he have that beats us? No way he does this with QQ. AA is a possibility I guess, but I think AQ, KQ or the heart draw are the most likely hands. Anyways, I shove over his ridiculous turn bet.

My PF raise was "small", because ideally i would like a caller with KK - i'd like a call with A/Q, A/J , K/Q, etc type of hands. I don't want someone to "just fold" and win a minimum pot - is my thinking wrong?

I do think i was ahead, but his bet "scared me" and with so little invested in the pot - i let it go.
