Agreed with Fnord, but to add to his advice, I would raise to 1.50 or so pre flop. Notice how you have 3 callers? You MUST isolate with a JJ type hand.

Trying to make it look like a cbet, giving up on the turn (with the check) and hoping villain will take a stab at it.
Villain must be a thinking villain to realize you cbet and are giving up to be able to make a stab, reads are needed here.
If he is a thinking villain, check the turn and let him fire at it, if not, just keep firing.

I did not raise the usual 4xbb coz im oop if that matters. No reads on villain.. first orbit at the table.
I thought a check might entice a bluff or think his midpair is good
