Hiya friends!
I want to do a video, but i need some help from u ppl first.
1. Which would you rather me do, 1/2 or 2/4? I won't play any higher or lower, and only at pokerstars.
2. How many tables would you like me to play? I could do anywhere from 4 to 16. I would imagine that 6 to 9 tables would strike a decent balance between depth and boredom.
And heres the biggest one.
3. I need step by step help with making said video. Someone with experience shooting and producing a video of a fairly large area of screen (since i'll likely play several tables), and condensing that video into a manageable file size, would be invaluable to me. I'd actually almost prefer if someone came over aim and helped me with this.

I think a 1/2 vid of 6 tables would be perfect, and would still allow room for some in depth thinking and explanation.
As for number 3, sorry but I cant help you out. Havent done it yet but I would also like to see the process stickied on FTR sometime.

I think a vid of 8 tabling 1/2 would be best. Can't help ya with 3 sorry.

this would be awesome. 6 or 8 tables wouldn't matter much to me. as far as the video goes, use a screen capturing program like camtasia. i haven't actually used the software but i'm sure you can figure it out.

1/2 would probably be best since it's the type of game most of us play in. This fact makes it difficult to understand exactly how to apply 2/4 stuff to lower stakes, but that could just be part of inefficient knowledge. Really you should decide which one would be best for us.
The fewer tables the better. I found 3 tables was too many when you were sweating me, but part of that had to do with the session not being recorded so I wouldn't be able to go back and rehash/understand the concepts. But if you can play 12 tables while providing thorough explanation then go for it. That's not how it will be, though.
Just go with the number of tables that you feel will allow you enough time to go into as much detail as you would like when key hands surface. I'm not interested in seeing your prowess. I'm interested in learning shit.
A 100 hand vid with all hands in conceptual detail is more valuable than a 1000 hand vid with marginal conceptual detailing imo.
A really really really excellent way to get concepts out would be to make a vid of playing your normal game normal tables normal everything recording all, but when producing editing it down to like 10 of the most key hands of the session, pausing when necessary for voice over with complete explanation of strategy. I don't expect you to do this since it's probably a recording/production nightmare, but I do think understanding it is a way of understanding the importance of full conceptual expression.
And YESSSS finally getting your vid done. What happened to the other one?

You'll need some kind of screen capturing program; someone above mentioned one, but I don't remember the name. The only issue with these programs is that they will often produce an uncompressed video file, typically hundreds of GBs in size, so you'll need a way to compress it. There are a variety of ways to do this, but the one I suggest is a program called Sony Video Vegas 5 (or 6, or 7, or 8, or ...). It will cost you some money, unless you can find a *cough* cheaper *cough* way to get it. This program will also allow you to edit your video quite nicely. You could even record yourself playing one table $1/$2 and just edit it in such a way that only shows hands that you played.

I can't even remotely follow videos of 4-tabling - not only is the image too small/pixelly but the action is too quick and hard to follow and inevitably the player has trouble focusing on a hand and/or discussing it in enough depth.
Is it unrealistic to want someone to put together a video of only interesting hands, discussed in relative depth? Obviously it would be a lot more work but the tool it produces could be just as valuable, if not more so.

I would like to see an unedited version of the session if possible. 6 tables should be plenty to get in some interesting/tricky spots without getting boring for sure.

I agree that 6 tables would be nice. As gametight says seeing all the hands (important and unimportant) is crucial for adjustments and meta game.

Hey guys,
I do have some experience in video creation since I made a few machinima movies, I know it's a whole different thing but maybe I could be of some help. Unfortunately I don't have aim, do you have ICQ or MSN?
Since it's only a poker movie and there is very little movement on the screen the file size should be manageable even at high resolutions. Never the less you probably will need a loooooot of hard drive space depending on the length of the session.
If Trainer_jyms already got you started, well then you probably don't need any help now
