The following hand is my second hand on that table, I have zero information about the opponents' playing style. I finally laid down my Full house ... I feared AQ or -more likely- A2 here. What do you think:

I don't think I like that fold. He could easily have a goofy AK but AsXs seems fairly likely.

He limped from UTG, raised and re-raised the flop; he's clearly very strong. I suspect A2 depending on what kind of player he is. Based on flop play I smell QQ as well. I think it was a good lay down only if he's not a typical $50NL donk.

Reraise flop to $12, call a shove, get the rest in on the turn if he just calls the flop reraise.

QFT
Due to preflop, you can HEAVILY discount villian having AQ. Most likely Ace-Rag, of which A2 is the least likely because there is ONLY one 2 left in the deck. You played this SUPER weak, and gave your villian WAY too much credit.

I guess only a real idiot would (a) bet on the flop like that with Ace + low kicker or (b) just limp UTG with QQ.
The only reason for a flat call with QQ from UTG is to re-raise any other raise preflop. Maybe he expected a raise ... I can't tell, it was only the 2nd hand of the day for me.
During the hand I was pretty sure he hit a two pair at least, he didn't lose any time betting 30% of his stack on the turn. Without an A on the river I'd have called anything.

He usually has Ax where x probably is a medium card but could be an oddly played AK/AQ etc.
You are probably ahead to trips on this river (more than 50%) but even if you arent then you are definatly winning more than the 35-40% you need to call this shove.
Also get it in on the turn.
Also stop slowplaying big hands when the other guy has already shown he is ready to put more money in NOW.

You can't fold a boat. Repeat: YOU HAVE A FULL HOUSE, DON'T FOLD. The majority of times you are ahead here so you gotta push. The only time I fold a FH is when there is 2 pr on the board and I've got the dummy end of it.

As played I kinda like the river fold. You fucked up the hand before that. Don't minreraise. I like just calling the raise to $10 on the flop but push the turn ffs.

You have moe than 50% equity in this spot for the times he has an overboat. Looking at the odds you need to call.
So folding is bad, very very bad IMO. Your turn play sucked balls also. Raise, opp isnt folding much tehre

I saw the flop action, I though this was 1/2 Limit. I was about to tell OP to post this in Limit section, but it turns out this is an NL hand. WTF?
To OP: you have a set on flop. Why do you end the betting? Also why do you minreraise? Do you or do you not want a big pot with a big hand?
If he limped AQ, tell him he's the best player in the world

fixed your flop play.
As played, villain re-raised over your min-raise, you should raise again, not stop the betting. Get it all in on the flop. Why do you play 22 if not to flop a set. Are you really that scared of AA/QQ here?
and as played, you should be at least re-raising the turn, probably shoving. Why did you play it like you did?

i prefer a shove here fwiw when we know he may not be able to fold a very strong second best hand.

You don't think a $43.25 raise is suspicious? I mean i'm a donk, but when someone over-bet pushes on the flop i KNOW i'm beat... surely the only hands calling that are ones we lose to?
I think it's all been said before about the right action.
Raise more on the flop, if he still re-raises you, you can push or call and then shove turn.
I'd rather smooth call and shove turn because imo 4-betting flop sometimes scares even idiots with 2pair :P

Villian could very well be on a flush draw here. Look at his betting line.

the only flush draw that makes sense with the action on the flop is Asxs and the As came on the river.

At these limits, if I hit a small set on a double suited flop against a villain who clearly also has a piece of the flop, I push my stack in.
This action makes it look like you are a donk on a flush draw (we see this play so often), and villain will probably call. I have even seen villains calling me in this situation when they have the flush draw...LOL.
This is one of my very favourite situations to be in and so very very profitable!
But going back to the situation on river. You are probably beat, but I would make a crying call.
