I was thinking last night about how I'm grinding so hard, maybe it's time to take it easy for a night. Maybe you grinders should too, play some good, friendly competition and then go back to your games fresh...plus we could chat about hands at the table in a good environment, like the FTR Chat Room! Anyone up for a FR cash game on Stars tonight with me?

Post what limit you'd like to play, we could try to accomodate as many as possible, maybe even two or three tables. I think we should play a lower stake than we usually play, but something big enough to keep us trying 100%. For me that's like 50NL or 100NL. Maybe we can even split up a few limits if there's a lot of different ranges. It'll be fun, and so few of these games actually come together, let's make one happen!

Sure, I'm up for any limit up to 2/4 but I will probably not play good below 25NL. Good idea. Any time is fine

also, since we're multitabling nits, 2 or 3 tables would be good too

This sounds like fun... hopefully I'll have some free time tonight... I'd like to vote for 50NL, I realize that might be beyond boring for some, but playing 100NL against multiple good players has got to be a bad idea on my part. (I'm also embarrassed to say this, but I really don't have the BR at the current time to comfortably spew at 100NL.)... maybe if it's too big for me I'll just rail and join the chat... (god I'm such a wuss.)

I hope this would be a private game that we set up on Stars and for which we could get the password in the chat room or something.
So you click their picture and then you get their money?

I suppose if we can't do private that's the best option.

Exactly, we meet up in the Chat Room so we can all sit down at the tables at the same time and not get any weirdos/reg nits etc.

How about 2 tables of 50NL and 2 tables of 100NL, doesn't that sound like it would suit well? 8:30 EST, we'll set it up.

Maybe we can turn this into a mini-beginners guide or something. Most likely on how not to play.

I suppose I could just shortstack the 100NL game... I'm a highly skilled shortstack player. http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...2479&start=140

my thinking was it was a good scary flop to bet, and then I figured 8-10 outs vs your overpair

I'm sure I could have....., you just don't give me enough credit

I played quite a few hands horribly last night. I love blowing people out of pots with the near nuts...yay

I'm not really good with odds, but with 10 outs am I not ~1.5:1 to make it by the river? (If I am wrong please correct me quickly as this could lead to a lot of mistakes) with about 2:1 being laid by the pot I called.

add in the fact that the table (from the few hands that I had seen) was playing a little laggy so you could have a random high card/flush draw hand, granted you didn't, but it was possible.

is this a blocking bet on the turn with a moderate hand, or an attempt to steal by repping the straight, or a combination of both?

against the players I usually play it's almost always the straight (or some other hand that they are itching to take deep)

Ok, here's my analysis of the hand. While in fact the table was playing loose, I was playing like a nit as was kingnat. I had never played with you before so I'm not going to squeeze a UTG+1 raise and an MP call with nothing.

Calling a large 3-bet with small pairs OOP is just a bad play. There's just so many flops that you're going to have to C/F and even if you flop a set, you're not getting great set odds and even if you flop one, you're not guaranteed to get my stack since I'm not stacking off with a missed AK/AQ.

Now let's look at the flop without the betting. If both of the hands were turned face up and you were given the option of putting both of our stacks in the middle, are you really excited to get your money in vs an overpair here? Of course not since you're a 2-1 dog to win the hand (cardpayer.com odds calculator). Now once you make the $19 bet on the flop then you have to call my shove because you're getting the right odds but those are false odds created by your $19 bet. What is the purpose of that $19 bet anyway? I would like to hear your reasoning behind it.

There's also another factor in the hand, the flop is all spades. You said that you put me on an overpair , but if one of my cards is a spade, you're a 4-1 dog to win the hand.

The problem for you in stacking off on this flop is that you're never way ahead here. You're either racing with AK/AQ that has a spade or your a big dog to an overpair, spade or no spade.

I know I've gone on about this had a bit but honestly, the had itself didn't bother me. The fact that you thought you played it good is what bothers me.

i didnt think i played it well or even correctly, i just didnt think it was horrible. besides, I was there to have some fun and mess around, not make money.

my flop bet was an attempt to steal given how very scary the flop was: suited, connected, and low. I think it was a bit low though, so a bet of 22-24 would have been better, if I decide to lead. I think if you fold even a small percentage of the time it may be enough to swing it to an almost break-even play. I mean, QQ/JJ w/ no spade don't look very good on that flop vs. an UTG raiser that you have no history with.

And setzy, I had 99 for the boat and thought that you might have hit the straight/6. I was wrong, and it was the worst possible bet I could make vs a good opponent, which I am not used to playing against. If I flat call the turn, I would imagine you will be betting the river.
