This was played on Prima so I don't have a hand history.

50PL

I get dealt in late position, everyone limps ahead of me, I raise 3$ get 2 callers player 1 and player 2. Both me and player 2 have +80$ stacks. Player 2 is loose and will call pre flop with all kinds of crap.

Pot(9$)
flop:

Player 2 bets 2$ i raise to 6$, player 1 folds player 2 calls

pot(21$)

turn:

player 2 checks, I bet 15$, player 2 calls

pot(51$)

river:

Player 2 is all in for 55$

I say nice river and fold...

Agree with this?

Looks like Ax to me. He may as well push on the river and hope you fold. Given 1 ace and 1 jack left in the deck and the chance he has something weird I think you have to call that river getting 2:1.

I came into this hand from just flopping the nut full house on another table against a flopped 4 of a kind losing my stack, so maybe that affected my decision. I also got a bit of a read on him here, the way he hesitated on earlier streets and then immidiately went all in on the river suggested that he he hit big.

result: he shows J6 !

If that's your read, go with it and fold. I just think it's closer than you might have thought...

During that session I was also on the receiving end of a set over set two times and still managed to brake even. Just goes to show how god awful the 50NL/PL players on Prima are.

I know that it was a close call and I don't know if I would do the same in similar situations in the future. Thats why I posted this, to get valuable opinions like yours.

Thinking about it some more, that sounds EXACTLY like a weak ace. Consider that his position is pretty weak until the river which takes his kicker out of play. I think trips out of position would try to get more money in the pot on the flop or turn.

Yeah, I got stacked a bunch today too. 1 mistake, 1 horrible beat against my set, TT cracking my Aces after putting in 1/2 his stack in pre-flop, then QQ doing the same after putting in 1/3 pre-flop. Still came out ahead.

It's amazing how fast the small pots add up. I remember at one table I built up to a 150BB stack and never really had much for cards, nor had to show anything down.

It would be pretty awful play by him to call the flop and turn with A and bad kicker here though. Any jack and any raising hand like AK AQ would be beating him. Should be an easy fold.

First you say how awful the players are, then you come to this conclusion?

Guess you are right..he did call a 6BB pre flop raise with J6 after all..
