I was trying to induce a check-raise bet by and wimped out on the river. I put him on a flush.

yikes - a scary hand.

he's checking and then calling you each time. you've got a potential heart flush and multiple Q's on the board, so you need to slow it down.

i think your play was fine, except i would have checked back on the river when the second queen hit just to be safe. that would have also allowed you to see his hand, and hopefully get a future read on his playing.

i'd put him on QQ or maybe AQ. i don't think he had the flush or he would have given you a more "callable" reraise on the river.
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

I thought the bet on the flop was too weak. I would've bet at least the pot, most especially with your opponent's possible 4-flush. It might have got him to lay it down right there.

That being said, it was a good lay down at the end.

yeah - i missed that. you most likely had the best hand on the flop - definitely a pot-sized bet.

I generally don't like to get fancy with monster pocket pairs. It's better to win smaller pots than lose bigger ones. I honestly believe you'll profit more in the long run by not slow-playing these.

word up, home slice! 8-)

from my PT:

AA wins 90%
KK wins 86.36%

strong winners, but not my best T$ makers due to being played hard on the flop - i hate getting outdrawn!

interestingly, my top T$ makers are TT followed closely by AQ suited.

That's very interesting. You must be betting your TTs very hard pre-flop.

I gotta get me that PokerTracker.

in an unraised pot with good position, i'm pretty hard with JJ and TT preflop. on the lucky side, i seem to get a lot of 962 rainbow type flops when i hold TT.

regarding poker tracker - i'm loving it more and more every day--->ala krusty from the simpsons (in a monotone): "i heartily endorse this product or event."

seriously, it's a great app. i've got it installed at work and at home.
