Top up to a full buy-in.

Go all in on the turn-- you've only got ~15BB left after you call the minraise. You're not going to make him go away with your all in (the action here smells like you're up against a smaller set most lilkely; maybe 99 if villain likes to float and got lucky picking up an OESD) but you want to get your money in with either the best hand or the best draw. You have both on the turn.

I would reraise more PF, maybe to $2.5-$3 here....

Flops fine, you flop a monster and a smallish bet isnt a bad idea. Turn makes the board very draw heavy....I get my chips in here, he may have filled his straight, but I doubt hes raising PF with J9...

When he reraises you on the turn, definitely push here, no silly calling.

In this situation never fold this river.

1) Buyin for full
2) Re-raise / bet more
3) Get it ai before the river

I will top up to full buy in in future, re-raise a bit more pre-flop,
for the results orientated though he did have J9 & filled his inside straight on the turn.

which illustrates why the min reraise pf is such a bad idea. if you make a real reraise, even if he calls with J9, you now have a sizeable pot into which to bet, which means your bet can be bigger, and you can win more off of him when he doesnt hit his magic card.

Essentially theres only 2 poker hands 96 and 9J beating you on that turn. Theres no way im calling a raise out of fear of 2 poker hands instead of going all in.
Agree that raising more pf basically allows you to bet more on flops and get more money from him.
You'd have to have a damn good read that some guy raised with 96 or 9j and now has a straight. Can you honestly say that was your read? If its not a read then its a fear and thats something which needs stamped out.
you cant handle the truth!

Next time you raise it at least to 2.50 or 3.00, he folds and you are happy to win 1.50 or so preflop remembering this beat. Or he still calls and you bet 2/3 pot on the flop, which will be like 4$ and he'll make a big mistake calling this with his gutshot. He will hit his magic card one in ten times and you will make a lot of money in the long run.
