What hands might you put him on if you push each other all in?

Any jack, Full house, same straight, an ace (In some cases, he'll think he splits with another A [AAKJJ])

I wouldn't be suprised to be beat, but I wouldn't be suprised if I won.

Nothing suprises me!

Well, since I can't suprise you rilla, I'll just say that he flipped over AA and I questioned my judgement on this hand (we pushed each other all in). I should have bet the flop. Anybody who's hand is improving on the turn or the river might very easily be better or the same as mine.

Hahahaha, aces...

Hahahahaha!

Comic gold, that hand.

A flop bet would have been nice, since beaten pairs will probably call and get tied up. But you've got the nut straight on a drawless board into an unraised pot. Letting them hit something isn't bad.

Your opponent had trip Aces on the flop and you had the nut straight. Putting a bet out there would have got action and on the turn you could have put him all-in.

I'd imagine he would have called your turn bet and the river would have gave him the boat.

It didn't matter when the chips got to the middle, they were destined to end up in stack. You could have got them in while you were ahead, but you got them in when you were dead. Doesn't really matter in the end I would say.

true i'd agree, get some action on the flop, could very easily go all-in there and the point is you're ahead there!

another AA limper at micro-limits, is it me or are there way too many people who think it's advantageous to play like that with these limits LOL

You can't know that your opponents would have a set there. I'd physically laugh my ass off If someone told me he had AA prior to the results being revealed.

Bet half pot or so on the flop. Someone will find a reason to call or raise a worse hand.

BTW, stop fucking around with your big hands in small games. It's a serious leak.

This reminds me of a hand I was involved in once. I had A-10 of diamonds and the flop came K, Q, J with two diamonds, giving me the nut straight and a royal flush draw. It checks around and a 3 comes on the turn. This guy makes a small bet, I raise, and he calls. The river is another jack, he makes a big bet and I call. He shows 3-3 for a full house.

Hey Fnord you should charge money for advice like that, I know I paid to learn that lesson

Before they start consistently folding to your bets, dont even think of slowplaying anything.

I guess I wasn't very clear in explaining. My opinion is that you should bet to get the money in while you are ahead. A half pot bet will get money in. Even without a set already made, there are a lot of hands that are going to pay a half pot bet or even a 3/4 pot bet (ie AK, AQ, AJ).

If he got called or raised, then he could just go all-in on the turn and not have to worry about being sucked out by slow playing the nuts.

In this case though, the set of Aces would probably call the all-in and win anyway by filling the boat on the river.
