You misplayed it. Admittedly, he wasn't going to fold and you were going to lose all your money anyway, but still.

1. Smooth calling the flop may get you in trouble. You've got the current nuts so it's arguable whether you need to raise here, but I'd throw out at least a min-raise. More important:

2. Don't just min-raise the turn. A flush draw possibility has come down, and you've got two other people in the pot already. It's time to drop the hammer. You don't want to give away cheap cards - if the board pairs or a heart comes down, you are at risk here. Make 'em pay to play.

It's worth noting that thumper misplayed his set of ducks pretty badly too. He led out with a weak bet on the turn - this is when he wants to re-raise. You did him a favor (he thought) by raising; he should have dropped the hammer on you right there, too. Basically if this was me playing against me on this hand, I'd expect both mes to end up all-in before the river card ever popped up. And then me number 2 would suck out on me number 1, and that me would eat his keyboard in a rage.

agree. Make THEM make the tough decisions, not you. I know it's a runner draw but the guy may have called with Ax hearts on the flop and picked up the draw by accident.

I probably would have lost my money here just like you.
At the turn, you have the benefit of position, so you don't have to do this dinky little minimum raise here. Raise 3 or 4x the bet. Make someone with the ace think about what you might have (and this bet should probably make him think you have an ace with a decent kicker). Add to this, if anyone has a set (like the actually did here), they'll be expecting you to have an ace and reraise right back at you. Little do they know, at hte moment, you have their set owned!
Now way I wait until the river to push here.

I think that there is very little value in the slow-play here. The hand is vulnerable to backdoor draws, and there simply aren't any likely hands that will develop on later streets which will add much to profit. The only hands that are probably going to give you action, such as a pair of aces, aces up or a set, have already developed. By slow-playing, you're taking potentially large risks (an opponent hitting a runner-runner flush, full house or higher straight) in favor of some very small prospects of additional profit.
