Villain claims he would have folded the river if his runner-runner flush hadnt hit. I beg to differ pointing out the fact that he was already very pot comitted by this point.

Did I play this right or should I have pushed the flop?

I would have pushed the turn a little harder for this exact reason. Villain probably has a high PP and is trying to get the draws out when he's betting the flop like that. I don't know if he'd fold with an overpair with a flush draw, but you've gotta push him a little harder.

Calling his flop bet is great if you can rule out AsKs. If there's any doubt at all, I'm pushing.

Your play is fine. I doubt he would have let it go on the river.

Your only other option really is to reraise the flop, but sometimes that's a bit too aggressive. You've got to let some people have some rope to hang themselves with...as long as it doesn't turn into runner runner flush.

If you figured him for a high pocket pair then definetly raise the flop. He will be reraising you if he has one, at which point you call, and make him think hes in control. Then check the turn and watch him throw a huge bet out then push. Cant gaurentee it'll work, and you dont wanna do it unless your almost sure he has high pockets.

This is a bit over my 0.25/0.5$ level, but I would not hesitate to push the flop after his 100$ bet. You are ahead, there is a possible flush draw on the table and the pot is very nice allready.

Yes, I was thinking about that after I posted. I think it really depends on how much money you think you can get from him and whether or not you get some fold equity in there.

He seemed pretty pot-comitted by the time the river came down, but look at how much he slowed down when you bet the turn on a 3-spade board after check-calling his flop raise. He doesn't want to let the hand go, but he is afraid of you already having the flush.

It's his only train of thought that makes sense to me... why else would he check behind on the river with a king-high flush? AsAx doesn't fit the preflop action. The only thing that would slip through is a loosely called Ax of spades (AJ-AK) or possibly 7s8s, both of which make him a dog at the turn.

On a spadeless river, I don't think he's giving his hand much credit at all. Your all in might come off as a bluff and he might then think his hand is good, but I think he's worried enough about you check-calling his flop bet and then betting a small amount (1/4 pot) when there's a possible flush on the board.

So you threw a blocking bet on the turn for a cheap river, what's your plan for a non board pairing brick? Another blocking bet?
