This is my 4th hand at the table and I didn't see anything unusual before this. How to play the flop?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($46.15)
MP1 ($44.80)
MP2 ($6.30)
Hero ($101)
Button ($42.60)
SB ($49.50)
BB ($116.95)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8, 8.
UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP2 calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, Button raises to $1, 1 fold, BB calls $0.50, UTG calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50.

Flop: ($5.25) 3, T, 8 (5 players)
BB bets $13.5, UTG folds, MP2 calls $5.30 (All-In), Hero...???

These morons can be hard to play ideally against because they don't even know what they have half the time. With he gross overbet on the flop you could probably tank for a few seconds and then call and hope he is dumb enough to do it again on the turn. The problem is that he probably doesn't have that strong of a hand and will probably slow down if an scare card comes. Pushing is a viable option too. Min-raise. These people play based on whim so take your pick.

i think its ok to either RR now or raise his turn bet (hoping he bets of course) coz we have no reads at all.

i think id RR now on flop and take his show of strength as strength. RR to about 35-40.

tank, then call. push over his turn bet. this is a pretty obvious overpair, and he is leading out big on the turn a good percentage of the time.

wouldnt call flop. push turn line show alot more strength than RR flop.

RR flop could look like underpair, AT, KT,JT, also str8 draw is one of our possible holdings.

if he has overpair which seems probable unless he has AA he may just slow down a bit on turn if A,K,Q,T,8,7 comes.

just thinking

No need to slowplay in this spot. Your opponent made a vast overbet. He feels his hand is good right now. Insult him with 2.5x raise. He'll think it's the best.

Against an idiot like this I like the flat call on the flop and the shove on the turn. Theres no point in waiting till after the turn to push because he is most likely going to fire out $20. I'm down for a turn push.

Villain often has J9, 79 or 33 based on the action.

nah, I put him on overpair AA, KK, QQ JJ or AT. most likely overpair. I highly doubt it is 33 cause he would not have bet so much. no one with a set will try and push others out of the pot.

Pushing on the flop is wrong cause he might fold his top pair. We have already decided we are playing for stacks so to us it makes no difference what comes on the turn and river. min raising lets him define his hand and allow him to put more money in the pot. if he has a strong overpair he will go all-in or call and betout on turn. If he has top pair he will call and check on turn allowing us to value bet and getmore cash from him. I say min-raise or 2.5x as per rondavu here for best value.

You gotta reraise the flop, villian probably flopped two-pair (this is the BB making the play after all) Any turn could make him doubt his hand, he likes it now so start pumping up the pot before he loses confidence.

Pot if you call is ~$34 There is $85 behind. I think a raise here is better maybe $20 more or something.

I think if you call he will then bet weak, like another $10 and fold to a raise. m/r is OK ,too, but you might panic someone if they happen to pay attention and you never do it.

It seems whenever I raise the flop, they fold, and whenever I call they flop they check, so whatever.
