Okay guys here is the situation, I'm playing in a $30 buyin NL SnG on PP. Everyone fold to me sitting in Middle position, I have pocket 8's, I call. It folds around to the Big Blind who checks. Flop comes 9,9,8. I bet about 500 chips, he calls, Turn comes Ace. I go all in. He calls. River is another 9. We showdown he is holding K,9 off and beats my Flopped Full House with 4 of a kind 9's. Now my question is did I play this hand wrong. Should I have gone all in as soon as I flopped the Full House?

He probably would have called with 3 9s and a king kicker anyway. He just got lucky on the river, nothing you can do about it.

I was just wondering if I screwed up by not going all in after the flop. But I think he would have called it anyway with Trip 9's.

Here's the double-edged sword: When you go all in, you want him to call. and with the 3 9s and king high, he's going to. And you're still gonna lose on the river. In other words, don't sweat it. You can't do anything about it.

In that situation, I'm going to make the same push every time, and I'm going to win a little over 90% of the time. I like those odds.

The exact same thing happened to me two days ago. I also flopped 8-full and I got rivered. I've been thinking about it over and over and I think it's just a stroke of bad luck. He only had one out and he got lucky and hit it.
