hand 1: looks good, you're way ahead of a random short stacked donk's range here

hand 2: hard to say without actually playing in the hand. Also, raising amounts are very confusing in this HH. I'd consider calling and getting the rest in on the turn with this much money in the pot and how much this guy's been splashing around, but you probably made a good fold. Again, hard to say.

How much did he raise to on his 3rd bet (so i can figure out these hh's)?

hand 3: savor these opportunities, easy money

hand 4: looks good

hand 5: I'm leaning towards betting this turn, and checking this river, but I think it's ok as played. You're not really too concerned about giving a free card on the turn, and a LP villain usually doesn't bluff raise this river, so I tihnk it's ok.

Hand 1 : I hate shortstacks. That is all.

Hand 2 : Probably a good fold. The re-reraise is scary. I can't see him doing that with a nut flush draw or anything you're leading. Unless he's a fish, nice fold.

Hand 3 : This exact same hand happened to me today as well. Dude, you should've know a second queen was coming. Easy fold.

Hand 4 : I think you played it perfectly.

Hand 5 : I probably bet this turn. His call will tell me a lot more than this check and i'll have a clearer idea of what's up given that scary river. Just seems weird to check the turn, and then throw out a feeler bet on river. Shouldn't you be making that bet on the turn? Anyway just throwing out that idea, i'm sure as played it's fine.

Anyway, seems like you're doing all the right things. I never see you on party anymore for some reason, maybe because I'm playing mostly 6MAx.

It'll turn around dude.

Nah, he had QJ.

I never post bad beats in the hh forum.

That being said, there was enough money in preflop, where he didn't have implied odds with QJ at all, it it was kinda a bad beat.

Put you to easy decisions?
I was referring to the fact that when shorties get into a pot with you, they're pot committed and will often push any flop regardless. I don't think that gives you an 'easy decision. It's definitely a leak in my game to put myself in situations when I have a medium pair up to Jacks and I peel a flop with a shorty. I find it puts me on tough decisions, as there are no implied odds involved.

I tend to hit TP and put the shorty all in, then and there. I come out ahead most often.
Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

Why peel? Figure out if you're good and if you are gamble with him!

Because implied odd make for easy decisions or a blanket justification for bad play?

i love shortstacks except in situations like the above session where they limp/call against me with dominating aces and we flop an ace.

No different than sucking out really, just another form of luck helping the guy tending to get the worst of it. It's not like you lose your shirt and doubling one of these guys increases the +EV of future hands at the table until they bust or leave.

I made a related arguement in the Beginner's Circle as why I like tiny stacks to my left (tight if possible). Though they have position on me, they cannot put me in a tricky situation. Several seemed to strongly disagree with me. How do you feel about having a tiny stack (<15BB) to your left, Fnord?

Indifferent. Depends if I have someone who's even more exploitable on my right.

The problem with giving shorties position is they will be better about hand selection entering pots instead of getting sucked in. Also, I open enough pots with hands that don't play well all-in that they can make +EV pushes over me with a fair range.

I'm thrilled when I have AQ and we catch an ace, personally.

I was making the argument that in general, I hate having short stacks in my left. I generally used 40bb if I remember correctly. Once the stacks get really small, I'd agree that it becomes less of a problem. But I still want them on my right in most situations to be perfectly honest.
