Well limit is starting to piss me off at the lower limits. I decided to move to NL for awhile and test the waters. It is sure a different mind set. Any tips or suggestions would be great. Here is a hand I have no idea how I played:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (9 handed) converter

UTG+1 ($1.54)
MP1 ($5.37)
Hero ($2.64)
MP3 ($7.14)
CO ($1.94)
Button ($1.01)
SB ($1.19)
BB ($2.16)
UTG ($1.69)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J, J.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.1, MP3 calls $0.10, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls $0.08.

Flop: ($0.33) 3, 9, 7 (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.25, MP3 raises to $0.5, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, MP3 calls $0.25.

Turn: ($1.83) T (2 players)
Hero bets $0.5, MP3 calls $0.50.

River: ($2.83) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.5, MP3 raises to $5.79, Hero calls $0.79 (All-In).

Final Pot: $9.91

Don't bet the farm without AA/KK maybe QQ or a REALLY good read. I made a similar mistake today that set me back $200 when I played my Jacks fast and ran into a set.

I'm just limping preflop with JJ these days without the button infront of me.

Seems like you can't win hero, I like what Fnord said about AA, KK and maybe QQ, If you had more behind you, I don’t think you should call the river there because the board has a 4 card straight plus a 3 card flush, he either had the 67(8)9T or a flush, he also could have various combinations of 2pair, I think he had something like 89 which gave him top pair on the flop and turned him a straight… I also might be completely off but his flop play makes me lean towards that he has a pair with a draw…

please tell me if i'm wrong...

I was just trying to make my post sound sexy.

I'll raise from late with JJ.

Results in white below:
Hero has Jh Jd (one pair, jacks).
MP3 has 8s 9s (straight, ten high).
Outcome: MP3 wins $9.91.

None of your raises seemed high enough to me (save the preflop...I agree with the above; I'd have limped).

You want to give bad drawing odds for the straights and flushes. Since he had top pair on the flop, I'm not sure it would have made a difference there, but a large bet on the turn may have driven him off and over time will win you money.

This way, over time he ends up winning, which is bad for you.

JJ = Worst (most defeated) pocket pair over 8? I think so, I cant count how many tourney's I've lost on that darn hand.
