I think I misplayed my pocket kings. First of all, I think I should have pre-flop raised more because people with pocket pairs will still call in hopes of cracking me. This was about my 4th hand in at this table so I had no reads. Usually I dont have reads anyways..
I figured he was on some face cards or a small pocket pair because he simply called preflop. His raise scared me, but I figured that thats what I would do with TPTK. If he flopped the flush I think he might have just called (hopefully).
I know that some people would say that by moving allin I am only gonna get called by better hands.
But Ive also heard people say that they moved allin to really put his faith in his hand to the test.
I figured my kings were enough to push with, given the chance he would fold. I wasnt sensing much strength so I figured Id make a move.
I think it was a bad play looking back. The board just wasnt push friendly.
What do you think?

Apparently not, eh? You'll get called by AQ and sometimes AJ in addition to (?!?!) KJ
(with the Ac I might've gone ahead the way he did. Maybe)

I like the preflop raise. You'd like to get one or two callers, and the table has folded to you. Standard 4xbb raise seems perfect.
I could go either way on the flop push. Really the only thing you're worried about is someone who stayed in with high clubs (or as you said, a pocket pair). I'm too lazy to calculate, but I'd expect that chances are equally good for someone to have a lessor hand and call as opposed to having one of the rare hands that beats you.

Yea, I guess that if half the time I was up against a better hand then pushing would be a very bad idea..I dont think many people would call a bet like that without having one pair beat. On the other hand, if I didnt push then I could extract more from lesser hands that would usually fold if I simply pushed.
And I admit that I have pushed because I wanted to avoid those difficult decisions that come further down the board...
