Villain sat down recently, and I haven't seen him before. He has only played 2 hands in 2 orbits, where he rivered trips against my rivered flush, another he c-bet a flop and took it down. Seems pretty tight, and solid thusfar.

I'm not sure if villain has been paying attention, but this was my first re-raise PF at the table since I sat down.

Hero is on button with QQ

Villain is UTG. ($100 effective stacks)

Villain raises to $12, folds to hero, hero raises to $35, blinds fold, villain calls.

Flop: Jd 9s 7h Pot: $73

Villain pushes all-in for $65, hero folds.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: That's 2 hands in 2 orbits... not 12, lol.

12 hands in 2 orbits (20 hands, right?) doesn't seem too tight to me....

Looking at it, unless he was a very tight raisor from UTG, I'd probably gamble here.

Pokerstove says:

Board: Jd 9s 7h
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 46.7611 % 45.67% 01.09% { QdQs }
Hand 2: 53.2389 % 52.15% 01.09% { 77+, AJs, AJo }

Getting about 2:1 on a call here, I think it's worth the gambol. Plus he might be out of line with AK trying to push you off your pair/AK. Even against just pp's 77 and up, we're 35% to win.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

What does a $12 opener mean in this game and how big is the big blind?

Any more information on him?

Mixed feelings on the pre-flop re-raise. Even more mixed feelings on the fold, I think you got to follow through, but I'd like more information.

It's a 1/2 game. A fairly standard 6BB raise in this game isn't uncommon. I haven't seen anything out of line with him yet, so I gave him credit. Is that a terrible range to put him on? What else would you throw in here? Don't like the QQ re-raise? Reasons?

for the love of god if you are going to 3-bet preflop to that size with these stacks, don't fold when you flop an overpair.

Not a good fold at all I think. I dunno about where you play but in the live 1/2 games I play at this is an easy call. Plus with all the money in the pot with a hand looking as good as yours I think ya gotta.

What hands can I beat besides AJ?

Doesn't any decent player have me beat more than 67% of the time here?

Actually any decent player will have you beat a lot less than 67% of the time if he knows you make laydowns like this.

Don't reraise preflop if you're just gonna fold to a below pot push even if you hit overpair.
