Hero ($34.35)
SB ($25.80)
BB ($17.50)
UTG ($56.85)
UTG+1 ($33.65)
MP1 ($77.10)
MP2 ($41.60)
MP3 ($48.25)
CO ($33.05)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, 7.
4 folds, MP3 calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2.50) A, K, 8 (5 players)
SB bets $0.5, BB calls $0.50, MP3 calls $0.50, CO folds, Hero raises to $4, SB calls $3.50, BB folds, MP3 folds.

Turn: ($11.50) 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6, SB calls $6.

River: ($23.50) K (2 players)
SB bets $15.3 (All-In), Hero folds.

How often is this just a busted draw or a hand I can beat? In my notes I have him pegged as kind of a call station.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

This is why I don't go deep with VERY shitty hands like this. I'd rather limp 67 offsuit than A7 offsuit in a NL ring game. I'd rather raise 23 suited, than call a raise with A7. If you play A7, and an ace flops, what hands are paying you off?

Getting back to the hand in question, I put the villain on a suited K of diamonds. Fold, and never play A7 offsuit deep with top pair again.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Meh, sometimes I'll play a button with very little so I won't get on my pre-flop high-horse.

well he certainly lived up to his callstation image (until the river). He might of been calling you with a Kx...hoping to hit 2 pairs or trips. Also, there are alot of Ax's out there with bigger kickers that have you beat. I often find myself in the same predicament as you. Someone calls your decent size bet on the flop and just calls your bigger bet on the turn. Doesn't give you much information except that they are probably drawing. (but why call the big bets?)

When a scare card comes on the river and he goes all in, I think you have to fold cuz I think you were beat.

I bet he had a king

When calling stations "wake up" they usually have a hand. Otherwise they are content to call your bet.

That's pretty much what I figured. Him check-calling down Ax, Kx or even TT-QQ were my thoughts. After he called my turn bet I didn't figure him for a flush draw anymore, unless it was JdTd or something..

 I muck this preflop without second thought. I'd rather limp 45o here.

I think I just call this flop, and see what happens on the turn. The betting of the players in front of you is probably more important then the card that comes down. A black 7 would be very pretty.

On the turn, I like a check behind.. I think this would be a great time to induce a river bluff now that you are heads up.

Had an unknown call off an additional $70 into a side pot with 34s drawing to a flush (with no other outs) last week. I flopped 2 pair bet, shortie pushed a 99 over-pair, he called, I pushed, he called...and got there.

I thought about that, but I figured I was still best, and would rather check behind on the river. In my limited experience, checking behind on the turn and giving a free card to the SB's rather large range of hands here isn't such a good idea.
