With the board pair I figured his outs were limited if he had top pair, so I decided to slow-play this a little on the flop and represent the flush draw, hoping he'd bet strong on the turn. On the turn I push all-in to look like a bluff with A-K of spades or something and he calls instantly. Kind of funny.

I took a risk if he was semi-bluffing, but I figured it could potentially pay off and it did.

I looked at this hand yesterday, and I can't figure out why your all in on the turn looks like a bluff, but for some reason it really does. Nice job.

This is something that a lot of players don't take advantage of in my opinion. I told a friend of mine that most of the time he shouldn't value bet a made flush on the turn or river, because against a lot of players it's less likely to get called than a big bet.

It's funny how the thought process of your opponent goes too...

"If he had a made hand he wouldn't bet that much, because he knows I wouldn't call", and then they call. Works constantly.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Yeah nh. When he checks the turn after leading out the flop, it's the perfect opportunity for a villain to bluff. Most pairs higher than 9 that raise pre flop here will value bet and probably earn themselves a fold....but for AK or AQ it's the perfect opportunity for a semi bluff push. Villain realizes this and takes the bait Nh

I guess with opp's stack being relatively small this works out +EV, but what about the instances where he's holding a 7 and has at least a buy-in for a stack? You didn't include a read, so opp could be holding a 7 or JJ... those instances seem unlikely, but should you factor them in?

I do love the AI "bluff" with the strongest hand... the times it's been most successful is when I've been able to push AI a couple times in a short period either through having the nuts, or a nut draw, or what have you... then peopel think you're just crazy and will call you with substandard hands.

Whats really crazy is that so many people call a push with nothing more than a draw.

I sometimes use this myself.. Push and they become sure your on a draw and call with mid pair.

Q. Is poker Gambling?
A. Do you use correct bankroll management?
