there's really a few things that you can think about here. Is UTG going to be very likely to call/raise the eventual bet from the button? If he is, then a check seems good.

A lead will allow you to be raised by the button, which is good, but will force out almost all of UTG's range, unless he has the 9's, in which case there is nothing that can be done to stop you from getting stacks in. Although, unless he is a donk, a call here with you to act behind him would be extremely bad on his part with anything other than the 9's.
The lead allows for a check-raise on the turn whether or not the button raised your flop bet, with the turn bet usually committing the button.

The only problem with the lead occurs if the button tends to get skittish with his big pairs postflop. he may end up taking a pot control line and checking behind on the turn.

pretty well anything other than a check raise AI on the flop should work, and even that might look enough like a flush draw/overpair to get a call.

I sometimes do this. Usually I just c/r the flop or lead the turn. $60 on the turn and the rest on the river will get it done.
