My thinking here was essentially that since I had the nut straight and the board was non-paired, non-flush, that I could afford to give away some cheap cards. His bet on the river after checking down told me he liked the river card, so I shoved. Thoughts?

I think you could have bet more on all streets. I don't think villian was looking for a free/cheap card here and probably has AJ/AQ/10J. I like the river shove if villian makes loose calls. Since he did make some sort of a donk value bet I think you will get paid off more than not by shoving here. NH sir.

I think a river push migth be too agressive;I like a more value bet to induce a call. However if you have a read that villain will call a push then do it.

After hero matches villain's bet on the river there is about $30 in the pot, and there is less than $17 left behind. I'd just push.
