At 100NL it's hard to determine what level my opponents are playing on. Are they playing the 2 cards in front of them or are they playing against my range?
If i'm playing against a villain who does think on multiple levels, how am I exploiting his ability to accurately put me on a range? Am I just betting 3/4 pot on the river as a bluff just to do it again and get action when I have the nuts? Check raising the turn with mid pair so i can do it with top set? Opening K7o UTG to discredit the times i do it with aces?
Is this what we're doing when balancing? Quote unquote spewing with marginal hands to get action on my monster and nut hands?
Explain balancing

At 100NL I really wouldn't worry about balancing your range.

The vast majority of the 'good' players at 100NL FR are simply massive multi-tabling tagg-bots who are relatively tight postflop, and are fairly exploitable (cbetting excessively etc...).

double barreling scare cards on the turn is generally a fairly effective bluff against em', as is c/ring the flop against their c-bets.

Get good at hand reading and don't expect the taggbots to pay you off with your big hands no matter how much they see you bluffing with 56s. Chances are they're not paying enough attention to take notes & apply them later. The image building moves ain't worth the money at 100NL IMO.

I think that at the micros which I am playing at (.02/.05, .05/.10) you can exploit the few players who do put you on a range, though not extensively... one post up here dealt with 'Shania'. You might want to research that, I find it does apply and does work, even at the micros... but you have to pick your opponents carefully.

And yes, I'm WAY overthinking micros.

sadly, I think that dozer's right here. I'm one of those bots he's talking about. Sometimes could be worth playing 50-30 for the first couple of orbits at a table IF you are up against an unknown big stack AND you suspect he's using an HUD.

Hell, i have notes on one TAG-bot that he 3-bet folds a bunch. I've 4-bet him 5 times now for four folds and one fold to a c-bet. He's never going to adjust, and if he does he'll run into aces.

You can use some game theory in certain spots to figure out what you think is about optimal and that can help tell you how to adjust to different tendencies you see in an opponent.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Most multi-tablers are playing a formula with simple adjustments based on HuD stats. It's not hard to guess that forumula and fill in the pieces as you see them.

At the 200 6max level I play a little of my hand and a little of my opponent's hand and don't worry too much about balance because there is enough randomness there to make me difficult to read for all but the best players (who are generally playing bigger games.)
