I thought I was crafty and smart but in reality I was dumb. I don't have the hand history but here's what happened.

I'm BB in $25 PP ring game. I have about $65 and I"m the big stack. One guy raises to $1 or $1.5, one caller, then the short stack (poor starting hand selection) goes all-in for $4. I have AcQs and go to click the fold button. Then I say to myself "you are a special guy". So, I figure I can call the $4 SS and isolate his Ax (at best) hand when the other 2 fold. The other 2 call. So, the flop comes out 8d 7d 5d. I'm the first to act. I say to myself "people have been saying you are special your whle life". So, I rep the flush and bet the $16 pot to isolate the short stack again. These guys are very tight players. This gives them poor odds to call unless they have 2 diamonds. Both think about it and fold, so I accomplished what I wanted. Turns out, the SS had ATo and a T came out on the turn where my A and Q were not matched. I lost the preflop call $4 but got back the $16, so I accomplished the same thing as folding on the flop. One guy that folded got upset since he probably folded AA or KK.

Anyway, I think that this was a bad play. Still interesting though since I got better hands to fold by repping the flop and put the SS on the lesser hand.

why not do that? You made the correct read on the reraise. Bet the drawers out.

Just seems like more trouble than it's worth. Small upside vs. big downside.

Bluffing into a dry pot is not as insane in a ring game as a tournament. However, it's a lot more difficult to get +EV when you have 1 player all in already. You can either hope that you have the short stack dominated and can beat him on the main pot, or you can coak the remaining players on the side pot.

In this case, he did have the short stack dominated. But gambling with short-stack not having a .

There's some bad parts and good parts to this hand, but overall, it ust sucks that a T came out and you lost.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

If the short stack was not a fishy type, I would not have made the call. But they were raising some horrible starting hands and just suffered a big loss (because of their poor hand selection). If figured they said "what the hay".

One thing I left out was my wife saying, "check/fold". I showed her who is boss.

I don't mind not winning the hand. I'm happier I didn't get called on my bluff. I think it worked because I didn't go AI. If I went AI, I think they would have sniffed steal.
