so i called with 10Jo on the button.... would anyone else have done the same after one caller?..
at the river i figured ok either he's retarded and feeding the rake or i've been drawing dead... so i just called him and of course he got paid...
that's poker or should i have not been in this hand to begin with...

It's ok to see the flop with JTo on the button, but I wouldn't pay too much or play that trouble hand from any other position. I wouldn't bet the turn, it smells like a trap and you'll only get called when you're beat or you have to split the pot. The river was unfortunate, you're gonna lose some $$ no matter what, I'd mini-raise instead of the raise to $4 because an ace won't call a big raise. Too bad you didn't have 88 lol.

I would consider raising with J10o on the button. The CO just joined and simply checked. A raise might just take down the pot and a reraise from the blinds would indicate stregnth and you could get away more easily.
As it played, you could have tossed the hand after the BB raised and the CO called. The second warning was his smooth calling your turn bet. Afterall he is the raiser and what was on the board didn't seem to worry him, nor did getting outdrawn otherwise he might have put in a raise here and tried to end it, especially since there was one more left to act. I'm not sure what you can really do about the river, paticularly in the heat of the moment when you hit your dream card and you can't bet into the pot fast enough.
