I'm in my home game. I'm on the button. We're down to three handed, and the stacks are all essentially the same. I kick in a small raise with pocket 3s. Small blind folds. Big blind calls. Now, I'm not too alarmed with the call here, as this player is loose-aggro. He's CALLED 5x BB bets with 6 high while learning the game, but after we razzed him a little, he's tightened up. Not to where he needs to be, but he's learning. He's the kind of player who will fish with any two cards preflop regardless, but he's learning to get away from them when he misses.
Flop comes 7-7-9. He checks, I do the same. Turn is a third 7. He checks. I throw in a bet of 100 (blinds are 10-20 at this point. That's approximately a 1/2 pot bet.) He makes the call.
River is a 10.
I throw out another 200. He thinks about it a while, and goes all in over top of me. I've been holding a full boat since the turn against a loose-aggro player who's fully capable of making a stone cold bluff with nothing.
Do you make the call?

Hell YEAH!
Because of your presentation here,
it’s apparent your “loose than you” friend there is obviously RECKLESSLY playing a pair of two’s!
CALL
lmao
At the least he is holding the other half of your three’s!
SPLIT POT!
LOL
You make sure you give him more instruction too once this hand is completed!
Looser players love that!

TDM's right, you can only beat a bluff. And unless he enjoys bluffing into aggression... I think you're soundly beaten.

It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside.

but if he had quads, wouldn't he make a more callable bet to try to milk as much as he can?

Yes.
He's not bluffing though and that's really all that counts. All 33 can beat is a bluff right here.

I laid it down. He flipped over a 9 for a higher full boat. I struggled with the decision for a while partially because of who it was, but was proud after the fact for a good laydown.

Not necessarily since you are thinking of calling. An over the top bet can often provoke someone to call. Especially if he's looooooose and aggressive and has bluffed on a few pots earlier.
