Villian made a similar move (not all-in though) earlier in the session. Do you call here knowing that you are at best 50/50?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

GatorJH ($40.80)
UTG ($13.15)
UTG+1 ($25.70)
MP1 ($45.50)
MP2 ($58.30)
MP3 ($93.80)
CO ($20)
Button ($31.10)
SB ($11.55)

Preflop: GatorJH is BB with K, A. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
3 folds, MP2 calls $0.50, MP3 calls $0.50, CO (poster) checks, Button calls $0.50, SB completes, GatorJH raises to $2.5, MP2 raises to $50, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, GatorJH ?????

also, you're not even close to 50/50 against his range.

I make it $5 pre-flop. My 10x from the blind special might be a leak, I'm not sure yet.

What range is that? He limped from MP. Do you think he would limp from MP with AA or KK?

Would you fold this if he pushed after your 10x BB raise? What hands would you put him on knowing he pulled virtually the EXACT same move (he limped, I was the last caller but raised instead, he followed with a huge re-raise) earlier in the session?

The question I am trying to get answered is this - When someone makes this move is it typically a "move" or a donk who was slow playing a monster hand?

In general, when someone pulls this move with a full buyin, i find it's AA or KK alot. Random shortstacks may have a much wider range here.

Without seeing one of these go to showdown, it's very hard to tell. A lot of idiots will do this with literally any pocket pair. I had a guy do this to me at 25 NL and full stacks with pocket twos. However, a lot of other idiots habitually limp AA/KK and hope someone else raises so they can jam all in. Without knowing which kind of idiot he is, this is probably a fold. It's worth noting that you're almost certainly against SOME pair, which means there's no chance you're a favorite.

I see people limp in mid/late position with AA at200nl where I play all the time. Its the dumbest fucking play ever, but people do it a lot.

If he were a shortstack, AND there was dead money (both of which conditions aren't fulfilled), I could maybe see making this call with AK, but even then its close. This play is almost always AA.

I had basically the same thing happen yesterday, except it was about a 30BB stack pushing in LP into 3-4 limpers. It was the 5th hand I'd seen of the table, and he had open pushed the previous hand, and turned on the "bet pot" button the other 3 pre flop.

I was in the BB with AKo and called thinking I was about even or way ahead of him. What do you think of calling like that vs. a shorter stack and a few limpers?

I bet pot, making it $4 PF. I agree it might be a leak betting like this from the blinds, but betting $2.50 with four or five limpers who have position on you is begging for a bunch of calls.

It's usually AA or KK, I've found. But as has been pointed out, even if it's a "move," it's still likely a PP, which you're a bit behind anyway. I fold here every time, all day.

That's such a stupid play by villian. Unless I had a real good read that he would do this with garbage I am folding... Even then I still might fold.
