Hi Everyone,
First time I am posting after being an avid reader for 6 months. I recently decided to turn my game around and quit playing multi game types at multi levels and focus on NL Ring. I play mostly 6 or 8 handed at a local site which is pretty fishy to say the least. Playing R1/R2 (equivelant to about $0.15/$0.30). During my first two week tenure I have averaged about 6ptBB / 100 hands but im still making some fishy plays at bad moments. The hand below is one I would like some comment on. More to follow. (Unfortunately the hand converter doesnt seem to support this history - hope its readbale enough - I am happy to manually improve the format for future posts if anyone would like to make suggestions).
The history is out of PT and currency is shown as $ but is actually ZAR.
(P.S. With regards to reads I didnt have much at the time. Generally fishy tables but know little about this guy).

I hate the minraise on the flop.
Opp is betting $8 into a roughly $40 pot. WTF? Either raise it up, or call to see who else will come along for the ride.
Would this guy really push AK or KK here? He has 2 people willing to spew money, so would he push with the goods?
You'd only be losing a buyin by calling this and you have a damned good hand, so I'd call.

messy
personally i either reraise or fold AQ here preflop.
Id lean toward a reraise considering your money behind but id like a better read on opps stats. If hes a taggy type player then maybe its a mistake to reraise. If hes laggy/slaggy then i like the reraise. Then its a player out of the sb and normally thats a strong hand. half decent players wont raise AJ from here they'll raise AK/AQ undominated hands.
Flop is just bad imo. If your going to raise (and especially with the money you have behind) then raise, dont fool around!
If we'd have reraised preflop then we would lose a buy in to AK here but i think it might play different. Same if opp has KK and has you smoked here. Obviously opp cant have AA!
Add to that the fact your miniraise is called by another player leads me to think that someone else has an ace or is fishing with JT especially after limping from the button.
Id have made it $24 on the flop and probably called the push but i probably wouldnt have been here in the first place.

Yeah - No denying I played this pretty horrible. I guess I coulda been thinking not to raise to big and make sure I get some action but thats pretty flimsy. Anyways I probably woulda made the call but I ran out of time before I had fully thought it through and ended up folding. Bit early to post the result but I dont think it makes much difference. Short stack called with 66 and vilain turned over A8. Noone improved....
I chose this hand as probably the worst example of an area i know i am having trouble with. I am just playing really horrible when I am not the first aggressor in a hand and I am sure i am leaving a lot of money on the table in this type of situation (although this is an extreme example). Anyways, will post some more example hands and maybe raise the general topic in another forum....
Appreciate any further comments!!
P.S - Theres no ways I can lay down AQ to a single raise @ 3Piggs (The site I play). Guys are terrible. They'll reraise and call each other with A2, K9, QJ 33 and just about any two suited. I dont think there is a site on the net that compares (although I have only played at 3 or 4), but luckily its only for SA citizens so it should stay that bad for a while!! The push was out of character though and had me worried.

Pushes like this are 1 of 2 things, either a HAH, I've got him by the balls, and I'll make him think that I think that he'll think......
or
I've got something, but I'm scared, and don't know how to play post flop, so I'll push.
