I took a shot at 50NL and it didn't work out for me. I played barely rolled for the limit (20 buyins) and after dropping 3 buyins I've decided to go back to 25NL and overoll myself for the next time I take a shot again

Are there any key differences from 25NL and 50NL? As far as i can tell, there seems to be a much larger number of regulars and people learned to fold top pair

It might sound stupid, but for me the main difference was the money. I always tried to move up with the minimum requirements, and I moved through the micros pretty fast once I stopped opening 30% @ FR... but with 50NL I'm startin to get a little more apprehensive. I'm way rolled for 100NL, but the swings at 50NL are big enough for me at the moment.
Actually I had the same feeling when I moved to 10NL (omgz just lost $50 at teh pokerz!!!!!!111)
Now 500 up or down don't hurt as much, but I don't need 1k swings in my life quite yet.

i would say that there are considerably more tag (but not necessarily good) regs online at certain times playing 50NL rather than 25NL.

there are also a few more regs who are more solid in 3bet pots when its btn vs blinds etc.

I'm taking my first shot at 50nl now, so I'm curious to see what others say.

All I've noticed thus far: The pre and post flop aggression seems much higher, so far fewer limped pots and more raising on the flop. Not nearly as many showdowns. More players are comfortable playing in 3 bet pots so they won't either fold to a 3 bet, move all in preflop, or do one or the other on the flop. It's difficult to find more than one calling station at a table.

better pre-flop ranges, more pre-flop aggression. That's about it though. Most regs still suck, and the non-regs too...

I'm from a 6-max perspective, but main difference was people defending their blinds by 3-betting rather than calling.
Just playing to improve.

Much more 3betting pre-flop, and a somewhat improved ability to fold post-flop (but they still call you down to the river with a gutshot and then fold when it misses).

Thats about it.
