In the HH below, I folded after the guy called, then raised me on the turn. I usually play tight, and I expected he placed me on top pair, so when he raised, I placed him on two pair.

Did you have notes on the player and what was his betting history on the table?

I had only been at the table for about 15 or so hands and he seemed to be one of the stronger players and didn't play many hands, but won the ones he did play.

He probably had two pair QJ. Not a bad fold with a solid read.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

He limped PF so he might hold QJ or he might have 22, 77. Given the limp I would not put him on a strong Q. Good fold I think.
Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

storm75m is an unknown quantity at this point
good laydown, only suggestion I have is to raise a little more preflop to get rid of the trash hands.

yeh definately raise more preflop.. even though your in early position.. with 3 others already in a min raise wont get any respect, if your not prepared to raise more out of position, dont raise at all.

also you bet 3 into a $9 pot (not accounting for rake).. which is pretty weak, he may have sensed a weakness and raised you for that reason. I do this to alot of people. I'm a pretty aggressive player post flop though, you need a good player read.

I posted this hand on another thread so you may have seen it.. but as an example of a way i did to someone what he may have done to you...

obviously you need a read to justify calling/raising though... but if you were to bet more on the turn you'd have better info, if you bet $6-7 into $9 and he still raises you, he has a hand.

Unless you're playing in a game that people will fold to a 2X BB raise the only thing you are doing is wasting a bet while giving people more incentive to draw at a larger pot on the flop.
