obv i have to bet to protect, but this a little too hard? Or am I just left bewildered that this flop did not help or at least encourage someone?!

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed)

Button ($15.75)
SB ($18)
BB ($22.15)
UTG ($34.75)
Staresy ($29.50)
MP1 ($28.95)

Preflop: Staresy is UTG+1 with 5, 5.
1 fold, Staresy calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, 2 folds, Button raises to $1, SB calls $0.90, BB calls $0.75, Staresy calls $0.75, MP1 calls $0.75.

i don't think that's too hard. another option is waiting for the button to raise and then checkraising, but i like leading out myself because a checkraise is very strong and if you lead out you can get raised anyway if the preflop raiser has anything.
