This is sort of a part 2 to my 'double barreling' thread:
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...op-t72451.html

This time, instead of being OOP, where our c-bet aware villain is floating light with position on us, hoping to take it down on the turn, they're OOP, and c/r our c-bet. Take this thread as an example:

http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ne-t72112.html

What is the best defense against this, and why? It was suggested that the villain will often follow through with the bluff on the turn, but I would question that.

If he thinks I'm c-betting, and is defending against it with a c/r, then he's got to take my call fairly seriously as I would usually give up here with air. So doesn't a flop call/turn lead look very strong?

How about cbet less against these people? Weight your range for betting the flop with more value than bluffs and he will be making a mistake if he doesn't adjust. It isn't your right to win the pot just because you bet a K high flop and I don't have a king. You need to start adjusting to players and stop playing in a vacuum.

This is actually really good advice imo. This is something I've been practicing for a few weeks now (Thanks to BankItDrew *high five*). I often wonder if mixing in a well placed c/r here and there might be +ev as well.

Obviously firing a second bullet on the turn is more difficult oop, whereas we can usually take a free river card when checked to. So, I'll concentrate on OOP situations.

As you know, I play a pretty basic straightforward game. Thus, my second-barreling requirements are strictly board texture related.

Good examples of good spots to fire again (less than 3 of the same suit) :
K922
KT85
K843 etc

I find that most of the time, villain has less than one of the three remaining kings and could very well be floating with a paired Ax hand or mpp.

Most spots are not great for second barreling, so I don't do it oop too much. Brutal spots to fire a second time:
Axxx
KQJx
QJ9x
2233
3345
three of the same suit on board
etc. I find that most people, including myself, just don't believe that hero hit the flop in examples 4 and 5, thus the float.

I'd like to add that other great spots to fire the turn oop or ip include turn cards that are very high cards in relation to the flop ex. A, K, Q...

Stack sizes is usually not a big factor for me. The only time it is occurs when villain will be pot committed after the second barrel.

Image is also important so I don't think I need to touch on that one.

2barreling is also 100% great when you cbet a low board, he flats, and a Q or K comes on the turn. Also somewhat less good but still nice if you suspect he has a PP is an A on the turn.

ASDF lucky donk hit his missed overs on turn, wtf I can't believe he cbet that board gawd he's so bad but now I have to fold omg I'm taking all his monies next time4sho. FOLD
