Come the flop on, no. Preflop; I can kind of criticize playing AT off, but you did raise it and continue from a position of strength. Your river bet might have been a bit too zealous. I think that's one of those "the only hands that call you OWN you" type of bets. I would have stuck to about 3/4's the pot or so. I mean, what did you really think he had? I don't think he had a set, since he would have raised your river bet. I'm putting him on KK or something?

I think you won this hand.

Value bet less on the river. The board suggests both a straight and a flush, so make a bet which he can call without one of these hands.

I'd survive with a smaller river bet. More of a blocking bet of 25 or 30.

You mean the revolver, sir?

OK, thanks for the advice guys. This guy kinda had a passion for calling hands down no matter what, that was why the pot sized bet on the river. I can understand toning it down to something that is more sure-fire that he will call.

Results:

Hero shows [ Th, Ac ] two pairs, aces and tens.
Button doesn't show [ 8s, 7s ] two pairs, eights and sevens.
Outcome: Hero wins $125.35
