WTF are you doing on the first hand?

You barely raise anything into the pot, flop a little piece of it and barely bet anything. You are asking to get outdrawn hard.

The second hand I'd probably just fold. Even behind two other limps, KTo is not one of my favorite hands.

You definately need to bet harder on the flops to give people bad odds to call draws.
If I had a hammer

I'd drop in the evening..

1. Raise the pot preflop.
2. Bet the pot on the flop.
3. Bet around 2/3 pot on the turn.
4. Bet around 2/3 pot on the river.

Second hand:
1. Fold preflop.

I dont really like the check on the river. If hes been calling with a low pair or doesnt feel good about his hand, he'll just check and let it go. Since you think he has a queen, put the pressure on him.

BET MORE

Seriously, get in the habit of looking at how much is in the pot, and betting somewhere between 2/3 of the pot and the whole pot on the flop and turn. It could be argued that this hand you might want to bet less because you have a pretty decent hand and might want some calls from second best hands, but looking at all of your hands together, it's clear that this is a problem that you need to correct.

There are some spots where you might want to lead out with a smaller bet, but if you never in your life bet less than 2/3 of the pot I doubt it would cost you much money in the long run. You really need to bet more when you have the goods.

And when I talk about bets, I mean flop and turn bets. River bets are different.

Preflop: Fine.

Flop: Bet more.

Turn: The pot will be bigger, so the bet will be bigger. But your heart is in the right place.

River: If the river was not a Q, your check would have been followed by a check. Bet again, if he's got the Q he's calling. If he has something silly like KK, he's calling and not checking. If he has TT, he's crying calling... etc etc. BET. Your river bet wont be 5 bucks, but it'll be getting there.

You're not playing poorly. But you are playing suboptimally.

You're not exactly up against the best of opposition. Every mistake they make (which are numerous) easily counteract the mistakes you're making and then some.
